Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol.1 Respects ‘Creator’s Original Vision,’ But Warns Some Content Is ‘Considered Outdated’

Konami has included a warning in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 that some content in the compilation is ‘considered outdated,’ but maintains the creator’s original vision has not been altered.

According to GamesRadar, Metal Gear Solid Master Collection features the following warning:

This game contains expressions and themes which may be considered outdated. However, these elements have been included without alteration to preserve the historical context in which the game was made and the creator’s original vision. Player discretion is advised.

By creator the message presumably means Hideo Kojima, although it doesn’t explicitly mention the developer by name. Kojima-san famously fell out with Konami during development of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain before forming his own independent studio.

Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol.1 is scheduled for release on PS5, PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One on October 24, 2023. The compilation includes Metal Gear, Metal Gear, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
