QuakeCon 2023 kicked off today, and as was previously rumoured, Quake II Remastered was announced, and even shadow dropped, as you can head to the PlayStation Store to grab Quake II for $9 USD for your PS5 or PS4.
If you do want a physical version of this Quake II however, then Limited Run Games will be filling in to offer physical copies, even offering a full ultimate edition with a steelbook case for your platform of choice, a poster, and a whole bunch of other Quake-goodies.
As was the case with the first Quake, the classic sequel has been given a whole suite of improvements, including up to 120FPS support for those PS5 owners with a compatible display, dynamic lighting, widescreen support, enhanced character models and more.
You’ll also be able to play Quake II in co-op, or jump into the four-playing online deathmatch arenas. There’s also support for cross-play, so you can jump into a deathmatch no matter what platform your friends are on.
