John Cena is the new big golfer that’ll be added to PGA Tour 2K23 this coming April 7, 2023, at which point he’ll be the third non-professional golfer in the game alongside Michael Jordan and Steph Curry.
“The champ is here!” the official Twitter account for PGA Tour 2K23 exclaimed with the announcement. In response, John Cena posted from his own official account, claiming “I never slice!”
While it could very well be coincidence, the update that’ll add John Cena to the roster of golfers will launch the same day as 2K Sports annual sports game competitor EA will release its own golf title, EA Sports PGA Tour.
A game that has been delayed time and again, moving its release date to line up with the masters, will now have even more trouble trying to pull gamers away from 2K’s game that they’ve already been playing since last fall.
Something that may prove even more difficult, after PGA Tour 2K23’s last major update that brought crossplay support and ranked play.
