July PS5 Sales Up 68% Year-On-Year As Sony’s Console Remains Market Leader

The latest GfK data has revealed that PS5 sales for July 2023 were up 68% year-on-year, as Sony’s console continues to remain market leader for another month — even if sales were only slightly up compared to last month.

It wasn’t just the PS5 that seems to be doing pretty well lately, as the PS4 also saw sales jump by a massive 331% so far this year — not bad for a console that turns 10-years-old in November. Over on the accessory from, the DualSense controller remains on top, with the White version hogging the no.1 spot ahead of the Black pad, thanks largely to recent discounts at retailers.

Sony’s summer sale has seen the PS5 discounted for a limited time this month, resulting in a significant rise in sales for the PS5 in the UK. The console maker also revealed recently that the PS5 has now shipped 40 million units worldwide since its launch in November 2020.
