The Most Fiendishly Difficult Red Dead Redemption II Quests

Red Dead Redemption II is well known for being one of the most expansive games on the market. It’s sold more than $55 million copies to date, so a huge number of us have already been taken in by its cowboy charm. It’s largely up to you which quests you complete in which order, and in some cases, if you complete them at all. Having this level of freedom is wonderful, but with it comes plenty of difficulty! We’re going to take a look at some of the most notoriously difficult quests in the game and try to give some suggestions to make them a little easier to complete. If you’ve not played the game all the way through before then there will be some spoilers, so keep that in mind. Ready to make your Red Dead Redemption II quest a little easier? These are all of the tips you need.

The Gambler Challenge

If you’re the kind of person who doesn’t believe a game is finished until you’ve reached that hallowed 100% completion rate then you’ll be all too familiar with the compendium of challenges in Red Dead Redemption II. The Gambler Challenge is probably the trickiest with them, with increasingly difficult checkpoints to accomplish. For us, the blackjack challenge of doubling down and winning a hand five times is almost impossible.

If you’re looking for a way to improve your chances then one of the best ways is to practice your blackjack skills. You can do this in any of the saloons or card playing spots that allow blackjack on the map, but in fact a quicker way is usually to practice online. All of the best online casinos in the UK feature the option to play blackjack and you’ll be able to fit in a lot more rounds if you’re not waiting for a load of cowboys to decide on their next move. Once you’ve practiced and you’re comfortable with the idea of doubling down, you might find this mission a little easier.

American Venom

As well as being technically tricky, this particular quest can be difficult emotionally too. By the time you’ve made it to the epilogue, which is when this quest takes place, you’ll have undoubtedly formed a bond with the characters you’ve spent so long with. Whilst some of them are good people, others are lovable rogues, and one person, in particular, is nothing more than a nuisance. However, tracking down Micah and exacting your revenge on him still somehow feels wrong, after all, he rode with your gang for so long, but that’s exactly what you’ll be doing in this mission.

You’re playing as John Marston and you’re accompanied by everybody’s favorite gun-slinging cowgirl Sadie Adler, as well as Charles Smith. The three of you have to trek through almost impossible blizzard conditions in order to find Micah’s hideout. There’ll be plenty of shootouts along the way, but once you find him you’re left with the most difficult choice of all. Do you spare Micah, or do you exact revenge on him on behalf of the Van der Linde gang? The choice is yours on this one, which makes it all the more tricky.

Dear Uncle Tacitus

Dear Uncle Tacitus is actually another mission from the Red Dead Redemption II epilogue. In this quest, you’re asked by your wife Abigail to go and find your uncle, who’s somehow managed to get himself into trouble again. It turns out that your old uncle has been captured by a group of bounty hunters who aren’t going to let him go without a fight.

Once you find their hideout, it’s up to you how you continue. One option is to go in all guns blazing and wipe them out quickly and messily. The other option is to stealthily take them down one by one, trying as hard as possible not to alert anybody to your presence. The last option is actually considerably easier in this mission, just remember to be as quiet as possible and if you do raise the alarm by accident, there’s nothing wrong with switching to the all-guns-blazing approach.
