After developer Tarsier Studios, the team behind the Little Nightmares franchise, revealed it would be focusing on a new IP, that left the Nightmares franchise on pause, or so it seemed.
Supermassive Games is taking up the franchise with Bandai Namco still publishing, as Little Nightmares 3 was revealed during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2023.
The third installment focuses on two new characters, both on a journey to escape Nowhere and its horrors that lurk around every corner. It’ll also be playable entirely in co-op, with each player taking on one of the two characters.
At first glance, this looks everything like what we know Little Nightmares to be, though with Supermassive Games, the team behind The Quarry, Until Dawn, and The Dark Pictures series, it’s sure to feel unique from the first two releases.
As far as a release date is concerned, all we know for now is that it is set to arrive sometime in 2024.
Following the trailer’s reveal, executive producer Lucas Roussel and producer Coralie Feniello from Bandai Namco stepped on stage to talk about Little Nightmares 3, and it’s setting, which already sounds to be larger than the first two games.
